In latest hip hop news, rapper Meek Mill will release his new album entitled Dreams Worth More Than Money while he is currently spending time inside a jail cell.

The 27-years-old Philadelphia hip hop artist recently released four new songs ("Stuntin," "Gettin' Money," "Get Clapped," and "Am I Wrong") last week despite the fact that he is currently behind bars after previously violating his parole.

Previously, the rapper was surrounded by controversy when Philadelphia Open Air Rev. Jomo K. Johnson urged people not to listen to his song "Amen" because of its explicit lyrics: ("I just wanna thank God/For all the pretty women he let into my life/All the Benjamins he let me count ... Now it's a lot of bad b*****s in the building (Ooh, Amen)," says Meek Mills in the aforementioned song. "A couple real n****s in the building (Amen)/I'm finna kill n****s in the building (Amen).")

"As a hip-hop fan, I want to encourage every rap fan in Philadelphia who is a believer in Jesus Christ, to boycott Meek Mill until he acknowledges this blatant disrespect. And being resident of North Philadelphia and pastor, I revoke Meek's 'hood pass' until this happens," said Johnson to Philadelphia Daily News in 2012.

As a result, Mill then accused the pastor of trying to get fame and notoriety at the expense of rapper's success.

"This looking like you trying to get famous, or you need some attention, because you could have came to me and said anything you wanted to say," said Mill to Pastor Johnson in an on-air interview two years ago, according to a XXL Magazine report.

"I mighta helped you. If you needed money for your church, I mighta woulda gave you that money. I mighta even remixed the song with Kirk Franklin. Anything you wanted to do. You went about it like you looking for attention and fame."

Pastor Johnson then told the hip hop artist the main reason why he boycotted the "Amen" song in 2012.

"My plea to you is to turn from sin, turn from blasphemy, turn from unrighteousness, that you're purporting in your music-turn to Jesus Christ and receive eternal life. It doesn't matter how much money you get, without Jesus Christ you will be lost eternally," said Johnson to Mill.

Now in 2014, MMG boss Rick Ross released the following statement regarding Mill's recent legal problems.

"I created MMG years ago, my desire was to create a space where the most talented artists in the world could be nurtured and supported. With that came a commitment. I vowed to support these artists, through the good and the bad. Every individual signed to MMG is not just an artist, they are my family. And with family you ride, or you die," said Ross in a statement released to MTV News on July 12.

"Yesterday, my brother, Meek Mill ran into some unfortunate legal issues. It happens. However, his team, our team, will continue to execute Meek's plan as close to schedule as possible."

Ross' upcoming Dreams Worth More Than Money album will be released in stores on September 9.
