Madeleine McCann Search Latest News: Water Well a New Possible Investigation Lead

A former Scotland Yard commander has urged the British police to search an abandoned well for any evidence in the ongoing trial of the Madeleine McCann case. The case has now been reopened with fresh leads in the investigation. The data from mobile phones has been collected by tracking techniques, which showed that the employees of the apartment where Madeleine McCann had disappeared were talking to each other more frequently after the incident of the missing child had occurred.

The abandoned well is located just 875 yards from the apartment from where three-year-old Madeleine had vanished. The mail reveals that the uncovered shaft is on scrubland and was overlooked by the Portuguese police during investigation. The abandoned well area has been serving as a campsite for the Roma gypsies, a tabloid report mentioned.

The well is hidden from the road view and has about 12 feet of water after a 30 foot drop. Roy Ramm has an experience of 27 years with the Metropolitan Police force. Roy, a Commander of Specialist Operations who has dealt with several human trafficking, rape, and murders, says, 'It is clearly known to locals and possibly to local criminals as a place to discard evidence from petty crime, such as handbags and other unwanted stolen items.'

'Whoever abducted Madeleine knew the local streets, alleyways, and scrubland and used that knowledge to avoid detection,' he adds.

The date from mobile phones also reveals that Euclides Monteiro, a heroin addict, had been near the apartment when the child disappeared. 'Kate and Gerry continue to have full confidence in the work being carried out by the Met Police but will not comment on it,' said their spokesman.
