MacBook Pro 2016 Vs Microsoft Surface Book 2 Specs, Price & Release Date: Here Are The Details

Apple and Microsoft are set to expand their product lines with the MacBook Pro 2016 and Microsoft Surface Book 2, respectively. In line with both devices, the following are their features.

The MacBook Pro is set to have a new hinge design, Tech Radar has learned. As per the publication, Amphenol, which engineers the Microsoft Surface Book hinges, is also set to structure the hinges of the Apple device. In addition, the MacBook Pro is set to be thinner and lighter, as compared to its predecessor.

As per reports, Apple's MacBook Pro also features a Touch ID fingerprint sensor, along with an OLED touchbar, which is assumed to be located above the device's keyboard. The touchbar is set to replace the physical function keys with a cluster of modifiable software keys to suit the needs of various applications. The device is also set to contain faster Skylake processors, along with more potent graphic cards.

The MacBook Pro may also lose its headphone jack, as per Macworld. According to the publication, this is to follow the trend, which began with the launch of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus; both smartphone variants do not have the said jack.

On the other hand, the features of the Microsoft Surface Book 2 include a more potent Intel Kaby Lake processor, along with a screen size that is comparable to its predecessor's 13.5-frame screen with 3,840 by 2160p resolution. According to Head and Global News, Microsoft has also maximized its device's visuals with the 4K video playback and 3D support, which reflect the book's enhanced graphics.

Just like the MacBook Pro, the Microsoft Surface Book 2 also features a hinge design, meant to separate the device's keyboard from the screen and it does not take into account if the unit is powered on not. Moreover, the device is set to include an Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 graphics set, which suggests the necessity for improved battery power; as per reports, this is due to the probability of hitting a 145-watt thermal enveope.

Along with the aforementioned, the Microsoft Surface Book 2 is set to feature VR capabilities, along with 297Mhz-clocked HDMI 1.3 port.

Apple's MacBook Pro 2016 is set to be released on Oct. 26 while Microsoft's Surface Book 2 is expect to come on on Oct. 26. Both devices range at an estimated price range of $1,000 to $2,000.
