'Love and Hip Hop' Star Peter Gunz Is Broke / Former Rapper Tells Sway in the Morning Why He Joined the Show, Married Amina Butterfly [VIDEO]

Love and Hip Hop New York star Peter Gunz is broke. Not only did the former rapper turned manager allegedly marry his artist, Amina Butterfly to expedite her U.S. citizenship while living with his baby mama Tara Wallace, but Gunz told Sway in the Morning that he's three months behind rent and out of cash.

He said his financial situation is the reason he decided to join Love and Hip Hop New York.

"Last time I went to the ATM, that [expletive] told me to get the [expletive] outta here. I had one hit... when they called me about the show, I was 3 months behind the rent... I just gave yall what was really going on."

Though rumors indicate he married Amina to help get her a work visa to start scheduling shows, Gunz reveals to Sway he did it to pad the drama for the reality show.

"As an old black man, I should be setting better examples. But at the end of the day, it's entertainment, it's [really] out there..."
