Lincoln Brewster Talks New Album 'Oxygen' and 'Bailing' on the Rock Star Life For Jesus (EXCLUSIVE VIDEO INTERVIEW)

Legendary worshiper and popular musician Lincoln Brewster sat down with BreatheCast for an in depth interview about his new album Oxygen and his journey from rock star to worship music icon.

Brewster is known for paving the way for worship artists on contemporary radio. He discussed his life, music, and ministry. Oxygen is Brewster's 9th studio album and will be released on Integrity Music. The project was recorded during one of the most challenging seasons of the artist's life, his wife's battle with cancer.

During the interview Brewster revealed that the inspiration behind his album title was from a song on the album, called "Oxygen." Brewster, a family man, said his youngest son told him that "Oxygen" was his favorite song, so he chose to name the album after it.

Brewster revealed the hook of the song, "I need you more then oxygen" and, "we can literally take our last breathes and we need God more then we need to be alive."

Brewster became a sought-after session guitarist in the early '90s garnering mainstream acclaim playing with Steve Perry from the band Journey as well as others. Brewster confessed during the interview that his musical transition was an unpopular decision amongst his peers because it "was not the cool thing to do," but he had to "follow Gods calling on his life."

Oxygen was produced by Brewster and Colby Wedgeworth and features 11 new songs, 10 of them co-written by Brewster. The album's first single, "Made New," is currently garnering airplay at Christian radio stations across the country.
