Lecrae's 'Anomaly' First Single Released, 'I Heard Nuthin' World Premiere (VIDEO)

Lecrae dropped the lead single "I Heard Nuthin" off of his seventh studio album, Anomaly, and opened up with Vibe about where he currently is as a man and a musician.

"Times are changing," he told Vibe, "I'm not afraid anymore."

The Reach Records founder has been making a major impression in mainstream Hip-hop with his music as a Christian man who is unashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Atlanta based rapper won a Grammy for his 2012 album Gravity. His win made him the first rapper to win the "Best Gospel Album" Grammy.

Although he has had so much success continuously packing out arenas, he told Vibe, "Each day I have to fight for contentment. There was a time when I was just happy to pay my bills doing this. I want to use my gifts and live there, in that space: content."

During the interview with the publication, the 34-year-old said it could all get burdensome, "It's an animal you have to tame. You do. My body hates it. This type of work takes a lot of your time," he said, "I mean, recently I was talking to a renowned filmmaker and he told me he's missed the last seven years of his son's life. I often have to ask myself what it is I'm chasing. Our ambitions can sometimes be unhealthy."

Walking the line of gospel music for a mainstream audience can destroy peoples' standards and Lecrae said he guards himself from falling into temptation, "I realize there's a tension," he said, "But that's why we all need people that will hold us up, help us to stand our ground."

The Emcee penned a song on Anomaly called "Fear," which notes that he thinks about the possibility of failing every day, "Still, fear fuels my faith," he declared.

Lecrae reveled that the content of his forthcoming LP is more honest than his previous records. According to Vibe he said he believes people will be liberated by it.

An exact date on Anomaly has not yet been disclosed, but the album is set for an August release. Listen to his first single, the Gawvi-produced single, "I Heard Nuthin,'" below:
