Actor and Christian activist Kirk Cameron set out to prove to other Christians that the celebration of Santa and all Christmas traditions despite pagan associations are actually Christian. His supporters came out in droves and the actor could not be happier with the level of support he received.

"Wow, over 100,000 of you have shared the trailer for Saving Christmas, the 'Fire Proof' actor wrote on Facebook this week, "That has resulted in over 4 MILLION people watching it!"

'Saving Christmas' hit theaters November 14 and is out for two weeks only, so Cameron wanted to make sure people made it out to see the film. Apparently the word got out and Cameron supporters showed up. Cameron went on to continue to urge people to see it even joking that his film is not another film that is popular.

"THANK YOU! If you haven't made it out to see the movie yet, come out this weekend! We aren't mocking jay, we're Saving Christmas!" he wrote.

Cameron's 'Saving Christmas' set out to help Christian skeptics understand why he celebrates Christmas and all of its festivities including Santa Claus. Throughout the years some evangelical Christians have disassociated themselves with celebrating Santa, claiming that it was a diversion from the true meaning of the season, Jesus and his birth. Along with Santa, Christmas day itself and all of its festivities have received a bad rep for its close ties to pagan origins. These accusations have been happening as early as the 1600's when the puritans banned Christmas.

In a recent interview with BREATHEcast Cameron undoubtedly maintains that everything involved with the Christmas celebration is paying homage to the birth of Jesus, Santa Claus, the carols, and the tree. "They [pagans] can steal God's things and twist them as much as they want but that doesn't change what Christmas is about," he declared.

The very passionate 'Growing Pains' star said the pagans "don't get to say that they own anything, ultimately they have to steal Gods things before they can claim ownership to it."

The film 'Saving Christmas' is Cameron's way of saving the holiday for the Christian skeptics. The film features Cameron and his brother-in-law who opposes the traditions of the holiday and simply wants to celebrate the savior's birth without the distractions of everything else. Cameron says the character was "ruining Christmas for his wife, he's scrooge, he simply was listening to the wrong people," he asserted, "his intentions were good because he wants it to be about Jesus but he was just looking at it wrong so I had to come help him out, that's all."
