Dating rumors between Katie Holmes and Alexander Skarsgard have emerged after reports began to claim that the two had gotten very close while filming their respective roles in 'The Giver'.

Apparently, there seemed to be some heavy flirting going on between the two on the set of the movie.

"Their flirtation was one of the worst kept secrets on set. Nobody is surprised that they've been spending time together," a source said according to AZ Central.

On a side note, 'The Giver' will also star Taylor Swift and Jeff Bridges. The cast of the movie is heading to various places in order to promote their film, which has many thinking that Holmes and Skarsgard will be able to spend some more time together.

"They really enjoy each other's company. While it's all quite casual at the moment, they are looking forward to spending more time with one another as they promote the film, especially as they are both single," the source added.

An insider said that Holmes had a big-time crush on Skarsgard, "He's a bit of a ladies' man and they've spent loads of time on their own rehearsing lines in her trailer. They clicked right from the start and have been spending a lot of time away from the set together," the insider added, according to Financial Express, "Katie's excuse is that they're playing husband and wife in the movie, but no one is buying it - the attraction between them is so obvious."

Additionally, Holmes is filming another movie, 'Woman in Gold', in which she has been spotted sporting a fake baby bump for the role. She wills star opposite Ryan Reynolds in a film about a Holocaust survivor who battles the government to recover a precious family heirloom.

Katie Holmes is the mother of 8-year-old Suri, with father and ex-husband, Tom Cruise.
