Kate Middleton Baby News: Makes First Public Apperance Since Pregnancy Announcement

The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, returned to her royal duties Tuesday night, and accompanied her husband when greeting Tony Tan Keng Yam, President of the Republic of Singapore and his wife- Mary, at London's Royal Garden Hotel.

It was the official welcoming ceremony of the State Visit to the United Kingdom for Singapore's president.

Middleton, who is pregnant with her second child, wore an Alexander McQueen coat and Jane Taylor hat to the event.

After welcoming the President and his wife, the royal couple accompanied them on a carriage to the Horse Guards Parade. Additionally, a ceremonial welcome was given by the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh.

The group then headed to Buckingham Palace, with Middleton and Prince William riding the Scottish State Coach. They were the third carriage in the state carriage procession.

However, Prince William stayed in the palace for lunch, while Middleton was not seen with him.

The event is the first public sighting of the Duchess of Cambridge since her second pregnancy was announced last month. She had cancelled a lot of engagements due to her illness, hyperememesis gravidarum, an extreme case of morning sickness.

A scheduled tour to Malta in September was also among the canceled obligations. However, Prince William was ready to take her place on the trip instead.

Middleton seems to be recovering well, according to a representative of the Kensington Palace. In a statement, the palace said "the Duchess of Cambridge continues to be affected by hyperememesis gravidarum, but her condition is steadily improving."

She also attended the Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2014 Awards Ceremony at the Natural History Museum, late Tuesday night.

She wore a sky blue Jenny Packham wrap dress and accessorized with a simple clutch.

The Kensington Palace announced Tuesday that Middleton and the Prince will be expecting Prince George's younger sibling to arrive in April, 2015.
