Joan Rivers' Family Hold Prayer Vigil in Hospital; Rihanna, Gladys Knight, Anjelah Johnson & More Join in on Twitter, 'Jesus, I Pray for a Miracle' (VIDEO)

81-year-old comedian pioneer Joan Rivers has been flooded with support and prayer from her peers in Hollywood after a minor throat surgery put her on life support. While Rivers is slowly returning from her medically induced coma, her daughter Melissa Rivers is reportedly holding a prayer vigil in the hospital with her family.

Rivers was originally put into the coma by doctors after she went into cardiac arrest last week. Currently, doctors fear that the trauma might leave Rivers in a vegetative state or wheelchair-bound.

On the lighter side, CBS News reports that the Rivers family is holding a prayer vigil by her bedside in Mount Sinai hospital.

Meanwhile, social media is exploding with comments from stars in every area of entertainment, praying for the comic who is popular for her sometimes-vulgar comedy.

"Please keep Joan Rivers in your prayers," pop star Rihanna tweeted.

Rivers 'Fashion Police' co-host Kelly Osbourne emotionally shared, "4 the first time in years I got down on my knees & prayed tonight, I encourage U 2 to the same 4 @Joan_Rivers my grandma! #inconsolable."

Legendary singer Gladys Knight also chimed in and posted, "My thoughts & prayers are with u ?@Joan_Rivers and ?@MelRivers Joan, u're a strong &fearless woman. I know you're gonna pull through! ?#WeLoveU"

Up and coming popular female comedian, Anjelah Johnson wrote with the hashtag #PrayersforJoanRivers, "Jesus, I pray for a miracle for the amazing ?@joan_rivers. Please let her wake up fully and be back at 100% Joan soon! ?"

TV talk show host Montel Williams extended his support to Rivers' daughter and also admitted he is in prayer for the multi-talented mother of one. "Continuing to pray for ?#JoanRivers tonight. The world isn't ready to be without Joan Rivers. ?@MelRivers if u need anything lmk," he tweeted.

Rivers an outspoken Jewish woman is also receiving support from people in Israel, "The ppl in Israel still praying for ?@Joan_Rivers full recovery!!!! We love you Joan! Our thoughts with u ?@MelRivers . God bless the family," an Israeli Twitter account posted.

Rivers was rushed to the hospital last Thursday after she went into cardiac arrest while undergoing a throat procedure on the Upper East Side. TMZ reported that the comedian is being kept alive on life support and that her family will decide what actions to take in the coming days.

Her very close daughter Melissa released a statement to E! saying, "My mother would be so touched by the tributes and prayers that we have received from around the world, her condition remains serious, but she is receiving the best treatment and care possible. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts as we pray for her recovery."
