Jeremy Lin News, Rumors: Linsanity Reveals How His Christian Faith Cost Him Millions of Dollars [VIDEO]

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Jeremy Lin revealed why he turned down millions of dollars during the 'Linsanity' era, when he was still a member of the New York Knicks a few years ago.

Lin is best known for passionately expressing his Christian faith in his various interviews, especially during the greatest season of his career after he finally became a starting point guard in the NBA on February 4, 2012.

"[I have] turned away almost everything, just because I do think my purpose is to play basketball, play well, and play for the glory of God," said Lin in an interview, according to a Yahoo! report, "The stuff off the court is great and it's fun, but it's definitely secondary to my primary job."

Lin mentioned that if he had accepted the multiple endorsement deals during the 'Linsanity' craze, he would have made more money off the court than he his NBA contract.

The 26-year-old Californian native previously revealed the biggest sin he frequently battles with as a male athlete.

"I'm not humble. Pride is [the] greatest sin I struggle with," wrote Lin via Facebook during his recent Fan Appreciation Week in August, "But I'd say as I get older, go through more experiences in life and face tougher obstacles, I realize that I'm more sinful and need God more than I ever imagined."

Lin believes his new association with Whistle Sports Network will give him another method in order interact with his strong fanbase in the US and worldwide.

"I'm blessed to have some of the most supportive and engaged fans in the world," said Lin, "Joining Whistle Sports provides my fans with a wider network of content possibilities. The Whistle has grown by millions of subscribers this year, has great momentum, and is expanding rapidly internationally. I'm looking forward to growing with them," said Lin, according to a Broadcasting Cable report.

Lin's Los Angeles Lakers battle his former team (Houston Rockets) on Opening Night at the Staples Center on October 28 at 7:30pm at the TNT Network.
