Jeremy Lin News: Linsanity Expresses His Christian Faith By Helping People in Need at Midnight Mission (VIDEO)

Newest Los Angeles Lakers athlete Jeremy Lin wasted no time expressing his Christian faith by helping people in need at the Midnight Mission.

"Nah, this is how it always is in America," said Lin on Thursday when he was asked if he was troubled by the lack of attention he received in the impoverished area.

When Lin recently visited Taiwan, he received a reception that would make the legendary 1960's music group The Beatles blush. However, at the Midnight Mission, he and some of his Lakers teammates (Nick Young and Xavier Henry) did not receive much of a welcome when they showed up to lend a hand to people down on their luck.

"Not sure who Jeremy Lin is," said Reginald Monson, according to the LA Times, "He's one of those Oriental guys, right? He better be with it, cause Kobe needs some help."

Diehard Lakers fan Tina Biris admitted that she didn't know who the latest Laker was when he visited Midnight Mission.

"Whoever he is, I hope he's good," said Biris, "We need to play better this year."

However, Rosa Miller was one of the few people who stays at the place of refuge who did recognize the point guard who previously played for Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks, and Houston Rockets.

"Yeah uh, good player. But you know what, I miss Gasol," said Rosa Miller.

Lin admits he has never been to a poor environment like that before but he is "keeping his eyes open" for future opportunities for his Christian organization (the Jeremy Lin Foundation) to help other people in need, just like his savior Jesus would want him to do.

"We're right in their backyard, and it's great that they are recognizing that they have a responsibility to this community," said Lakers Chief Executive Larry Adamson a few days ago.
