Jeremy Lin Lakers News: Combo With Carlos Boozer May Take Lakers To New Heights This Season

Los Angeles Lakers have a very potent offensive pair this season, as Jeremy Lin and Carlos Boozer complement one another, particularly when running the pick-and-roll plays.

Many believe that after two seasons with the Houston Rockets, Lin will be starting a new chapter in his career with the Lakers and will find an ideal partner in Boozer, who is still able to produce big numbers.

It is expected that playing under the guidance of Lakers new head coach Byron Scott, both Lin and Boozer will have a changeover season, as they will now be allowed to play at their full potency. Now, the question remains as to how successful the duo will be together.

In 2008, Scott led the New Orleans Hornets to great heights as the team finished with one of their best records in the league. On most nights, the Hornets were virtually unstoppable as Chris Paul and David West executed pick-and-roll or pick-and-pop plays with maximum confidence.

Even in the early 2000s, Jason Kidd and Kenyon Martin performed as an effective pair for the Brooklyn Nets. In fact, the Nets played in back-to-back NBA finals.

Provided all these work well, Lin and Boozer may possibly prove to be a very potent pick-and-roll pair for Scott. The Lakers will surely be competitive this season due to the new roster changes, especially in combination with Kobe Bryant's scoring brilliance.

In fact, Lin has been outstanding when running pick-and-roll. It was the same traditional play that propelled him to prominence in New York City during the "Linsanity era." Teaming up with Tyson Chandler and a few floor spacers, Lin stormed the defense of his opponents for successive games and created the hysterics that basketball fans will remember forever.
