Acclaimed recording artist Israel Houghton last week unveiled the cover art for his first new solo album in years, Road To DeMaskUs, available for pre-order on Sept. 7. In addition to the cover unveiling, Houghton also released the album's second single, "Promise Keeper," featuring Travis Greene.

Releasing on Sept. 27, Road To DeMaskUs pays homage to the well-known story in the Book of Acts of Paul's journey to Damascus and his subsequent conversion. Houghton says the album's title is deliberately creative, hoping to encourage the removal of all the "masks" he says we find ourselves wearing in life.

Whether you are masking your emotions or masking your authentic self, Houghton hopes to remind people that God's love is not based upon who we are pretending to be. Rather, he says, it is present and available for us exactly as we are. The artist says his prayer is that the album can become a tool to "de-mask us."

Recently, Houghton also announced the upcoming "Road To DeMaskUs Tour" which kicks off on the new album's release day, Sept. 27. The tour will begin in Chicago, making stops in twelve cities, including New York City; Philadelphia; Washington, D.C.; Atlanta; and Detroit.

With a career spanning over two decades, Houghton has made a name for himself as a world-renowned artist, producer, and songwriter, so far garnering six Grammy Award wins and numerous Dove Awards as a solo artist as well as the leader of Israel & New Breed. Recently, he was nominated for a GMA Dove Award for Spanish Language Album of the Year as a producer for Lucía Parker's, Revive.
