As Biblical stories continue to get a mainstream push on television and movie screens, this week Jesus made the cover of TV Guide.

Of course the Jesus portrayed was NBC's "A.D. The Bible Continues' actor Juan Pablo Di Pace, the Mark Burnett and Roma Downey produced show is the reigning ratings champion of the last few weeks.

The 12 part series debuted on Easter Sunday, and raked in 9.5 million viewers, and led Twitter as the No. 1 trend.

The cover of the magazine reads, "A.D. How Jesus is saving primetime." This bold statement is exactly the kind of impact the creators of the show are looking to make within mainstream culture.

"We are so grateful your support and enthusiasm and hope that you will continue to spread the word about this powerful series that's impacting our current culture through primetime TV," a celebratory release for the show reads.

'A.D. The Bible Continues' picks up where the smash hit miniseries "The Bible" left off, continuing the greatest story ever told and exploring the exciting and inspiring events that followed the crucifixion of Christ.
