iPod Touch 6G Release Date, Specs Rumors: Report Claims Launching in September 2015

There is no doubt that the iPod was one product that propelled Apple Inc. into the forefront of the tech industry. Over the years, this small music player has not only evolved, but undergone various changes as well as upgrades. Now, people are expecting the Cupertino-based company to launch a new generation iPod soon. However, as Apple has been focusing on releasing other products, it seems that the sixth-gen iPod Touch 6G is still on the back burner.

According to Christian Today, although several fans expected the company to announce the new iPod Touch 6G at the Apple event last year, it did not include it in its product line. Instead, the company went on to launch products like the new iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air 2, and iPad mini 3. While Apple did not offer any reason for omitting the iPod Touch 6G, there were speculations that Apple is worried regarding the supply of the device's parts. Incidentally, there is no demand for the iPod Touch 6G in the market now, as iPhones and iPads are capable of performing its functions.

Nevertheless, Apple fans have not given up hope, and are keeping the fire alive with rumors and speculations regarding the iPod Touch 6G. Meanwhile, Master Herald claims that the next generation iPod may be launched in September 2015 in two variants - a 4.7-inch model and a 5.7-inch variant. The website further speculated that the new iPod touch will be available in various colors, run on iOS 8.1.3 operating system, and be equipped with an enhanced battery life. In addition, the purported iPod Touch 6G will come with an enhanced security feature via a Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

It is also being speculated that the upcoming purported iPod touch will come with an improved camera as well as microSD capability. Moreover, as the iPod Touch 6G will be arriving at a time when the Apple Watch will already be in the market, it will be compatible with the device. Similar to the Apple Watch, the iPod touch is also likely to be water resistant.

All said and done, the above mentioned specs are mere speculations, since Apple has yet to make any official announcement regarding the iPod Touch 6G.
