iPhone 5S Rumors: September 10 Release Date / Fingerprint Sensors the Big Feature of New Apple Smartphone? Dual LED Flash, Liquidmetal Back?

Wondering what features you can expect from the upcoming iPhone 5S, Apple's next generation flagship smartphone? Chances are you'll have to wait until the rumored September 10 launch date, but here's a roundup of the rumors circulating the Web.

Fingerprint sensors have been a hot button rumor for the last couple of years. Its only normal, with the iPhone 5S release date quickly approaching that we consider fingerprint security as a possible feature for the new phone.

What's special about this year's chances? Not so long ago, Apple purchased AuthenTec, for a cool $356 million. The company makes fingerprint sensor technology. Could this be the big feature of the iPhone 5S?

Like most "S" upgrades, the iPhone 5S will probably resemble the iPhone 5 in terms of size. However, there have been rumors a-brewing that Apple is experimenting with 4.7-inch displays and 5.7-inch screens for phones that may be released in 2014? Apparently the Galaxy Note series is doing more damage than expected.

One of the rumors closest to confirmation is the dual LED flash on the iPhone 5S. To keep up with the Galaxy S4 and other competing smartphones, the camera will definitely need an upgrade. A 13-megapixel camera [or higher] paired with a dual LED flash could give Apple the edge this fall.

On a slightly less sexy rumor, BGR's Jonathan Geller believes Apple could switch from aluminum backs to Liquidmetal, citing the materials as "indestructible." Less sexy rumors usually mean actual features.
