iPad Mini 5 Release Date, Specs Rumors: Expected To Arrive In September?

According to PC Advisor, the timeline for the release date of the iPad Mini 5 can be gleaned by Apple's historical announcements. The iPad Mini 4, for example, was released on Sept. 9 last year along with the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus.

Last March, Apple announced the iPhone SE and the 9.7-inch iPad Pro as well as the watch bands. But the iPad Mini 5 was nowhere to be found, not that gadget news sites were expecting that to happen. Meanwhile, the company announced the iOS 10 and the Siri for Mac during the WWDC.

"In the past we've had to wait a week or so following the launch event for the iPad mini to go on sale, but Apple began selling the iPad mini 4 immediately after its announcement in September 2015," it said.

And the website expects Apple to follow the same pattern with the iPad Mini 5 release date, as well as its commercial availability.

For its part, MacWorld shared rumors of the anticipated specs for the iPad Mini 5, which includes a 3D touch found on the iPhone 6s. It's also going to be much slimmer, which can be achieved by giving it a smaller battery pack without compromising usage rate.

"Apple isn't expected to up the camera quality in the iPad mini 5, so expect 8Mp on the rear and 1.2Mp on the front," the site said.

As to the price of the iPad Mini 5, rumors suggested that it's going to cost between $420 and about $760. However, fans will just have to wait for the release date for confirmation.
