Apple launched its second-generation iPad Mini in October 2013, and the Web is flooded with increasing rumors about the release of iPad Mini 3 as we enter the Fall of 2014. Although Apple has yet to make any announcement regarding the release of iPad Mini 3, latest rumors suggest that the device may be available sometime in October 2014.

According to a recent rumor, Apple will rename the iPad Mini 3 as iPad Mini Air, thereby continuing with the naming trend that started with iPad Air and the MacBook Air. In fact, the iPad Mini 2 is called the iPad Mini with Retina Display.

Moreover, another rumor supposedly originating from Taiwan's Economic Daily News suggest that the Cupertino tech titan may also launch an iPhone Air in 2014.

Considering the company's iPad launch history, it is very likely that Apple will organize a special event in October 2014 to launch the iPad Mini 3 as well as a new iPad Air, prior to releasing them for sale in November.

In fact, has launched all the previous iPad models in October. The company launched the first iPad Air as well as the Retina iPad Mini in October 2013, while the first iPad Mini and iPad 4 arrived in October 2012.

Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst with KGI Securities whose predicitions regarding Apple device releases have proven to be reliable in the past, said that the iPad Mini 3 can be expected to arrive during the third quarter of 2014, denoting that the launch of the device would come between July and September.

This is a little earlier than the expected release date, but, Kuo also hinted that the iPad Mini 3 would be arriving sometime before the launch of the much anticipated iPhone 6.
