iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 3 Release Date, Rumors: WWDC in June 2014 Could See Devices Launched

While Apple is yet to make any official announcement regarding the launch of the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3, there is a lot of speculation and hype surrounding the two forthcoming devices, which are expected to have a fall launch.

As far as the launch date is concerned, it is being predicted that the Cupertino-based tech giant will introduce the new tablets at the WWDC 2014, commencing June 2.

We are aware that Apple is currently working on new devices that will replace its current iPad Air and iPad Mini 2, but we are still not certain whether the Cupertino-based tech behemoth will christen them the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 2. In fact, these names have only been coined by the rumor mill to describe the two new next-gen devices being developed by Apple.

Meanwhile, the latest rumors imply that the home button of the forthcoming devices, including iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 3 and iPhone 6, will incorporate push in fingerprint sensors. This seems to have some credibility, as the Touch ID fingerprint sensor has been one of the major selling points for the iPhone 5S. Therefore, it is expected that Apple will incorporate this technology in all its new products.

In addition, the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 are also likely to have faster processors - a standard rule for all new devices from Apple. For instance, the only major difference between iPad Mini 2 and iPad Mini is that the former came with high-definition Retina Display.

That has even led some to assume that talks about the Touch ID fingerprint sensor may just be gossip and the new devices will just have a few performance upgrades.

Nevertheless, Apple fans should be thrilled to know that the company is in the process of finalizing the development of the iOS 8, and that the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 are likely to incorporate the next generation operating system.
