iPad 5 Release Date, Rumors, Price / Apple Announcement: Launch Date October 22 / New Tablet Will Cost $499 and Up?

There has been a lot of buzz about the upcoming iPad 5 from Apple. Let me roundup all of the rumors for you.

First let's start with the release date. Apple recently made the official announcement and set the launch date for October 22. Go ahead and put your old iPad 4 up for sale because the specs on the new iPad 5 are pretty awesome.

As for the price of the new iPad 5, based on the patterns from it's predecessor the iPad 4, the new tablet will most likely cost you around $499, $599 and $699 for the 16, 32, and 64GB storage options respectively.

As for specs and features your looking at a 9.7-inch Retina display, a better processor, iOS 7, thinner, lighter design, and silver and gray color options.

It's still speculation as to whether or not the new iPad will come with the recently patented Touch ID fingerprint sensor debuted on the iPhone 5S. 

The new Apple tablet is also rumored to come equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera with improved LED flash, to help combat low-light environments.
