iOS 8 Battery Problem, Battery Drain Issues Solutions: Tips & Tricks to Increase Battery Life

While some Apple product users are still struggling with their iOS 8 operating systems, others have posted solutions online to help those with battery drain issues.

iPhones, iPods and iPads that use the new software are said to experience faster battery drainage, even in versions that were released this year. Many owners are only able to use their Apple devices for a short while before the battery runs out.

Other users have discovered a few tricks that have been helpful in prolonging their device use and have shared the tips through various blogs and social media posts.

One of the main solutions proposed is to turn off unnecessary features that may be increasing battery usage. GPS is one that uses up a majority of a device's energy, and disabling the feature will increase battery life.

Another feature that people suggest to disable is background app refresh and push notifications, which provides updates and alerts on programs by the minute.

Some users have seen a positive effect on their battery life span by adjusting a few of the settings on their devices. Lowering the screen brightness, turning off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi when not in use can contribute to longer usage of your phone or tablet as well.

Beyond that, users with battery problems should avoid enabling the keyboard clicks and other unnecessary sound.

Some apps and programs such as Facebook and Skype consume more battery power when compared to others, and force closing them will help troubleshooters use their phones for a longer period of time.

Those who reported having battery life problems can reset the power cycle every month by completely draining the phone or tablet, and then charging it completely.

Doing so allows the battery indicator to recalibrate to give the owner a more accurate report on their battery status and usage.

On that note, the iOS 8 operating system was announced on June 2, and almost one-half of iPhone users have installed it within five days after its release.
