Independence Day 2 Trailer, Plot: Roland Emmerich's Film 'Resurgence' Highlighted At Super Bowl 2016 Event? [WATCH SUPER BOWL AD]

"Independence Day: Resurgence" is reportedly going to be a spotlight at the Super Bowl 2016 event, as per latest reports.

"The Hunger Game's" Liam Hemsworth and "Jurassic Park's" Jeff Goldblum" are going to attend the Super Bowl as representatives of upcoming Roland Emmerich action adventure sci-fi film, according to The Hollywood Reporter. As per the publication, it is unclear at this point whether the new trailer for the film is set to be released at the event, but it is assumed that fans will get some information about the movie.

In December 2015 the first trailer for Emmerich's "Independence 2" was released. It featured Goldblum, who is playing David Levinson, as he returns to scrutinize an upcoming threat posed by the alien forces, which are praparing for war against the United States.

The clip also saw the United States president in the film, addressing the nation that the state would be once again be fighting for freedom, and not from tyranny, oppression, and persecution, but from annihilation.

The president continued and said that the fourth of July would be no longer known as an American holiday, but the day that the world said in one voice that they would not go quietly into the night, that they would not vanish without a fight, and that they were going to live on and survive.

According to Enstarz, "Independence Day: Resurgence" will stimulate the emotions of people from the older generation, as they have seen the events that imbued themes of nationalism 20 years ago, while the younger generation are going to witness a fresh take of the film.

"Independence Day: Resurgence" is set two decades following the first Independence Day invasion. It is a time when the Earth faces a new extra-Solar threat, which questions the reliability of man's new space defenses.

Aside from Hemsworth and Goldblum, "Independence Day: Resurgence" stars Brent Spiner, Sela Ward, Vivica A. Fox, Bill Pullman, William Fichtner, Charlotte Gainsburg, Maika Monroe, and Joey King, among others.

Emmerich's "Independence Day: Resurgence" is set to premiere in theaters in the United States on June 24.
