Biblical epics dominated the box-office in 2014 and A-list stars Hugh Jackman, Ben Affleck, and Matt Damon will keep the momentum coming with an upcoming film based on the life of prominent Bible figure the Apostle Paul.

Jackman is set to star in the new movie according to Deadline and will produce the flick, called 'Apostle Paul,' with fellow stars and 'Good Will Hunting' writers Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.

Social media immediately lit up with comments as many hope the film would stay Biblically accurate unlike what they said the films such as, 'Exodus' and 'Noah' did. Others praised Jackman for wanting to take on the role.

"Jackman works best when he portrays men who are larger than life! From a saintly man (Valjean) to a real saint (Apostle Paul)! He is a fine actor and this could turn out to be another dramatic success," one wrote online.

"I think this sounds great. Great idea never properly done before. Good for everybody involved," another added.

The film is set to highlight the life of Saul of Tarsus who had formerly greatly persecuted the early Christ followers. He then became Paul the Apostle after the resurrected Jesus appeared and spoke to him on the road to Damascus by a blinding light, knocking him from his horse.

Paul is considered one of the most important figures in Christianity and is credited with writing the 13 letters/books that are incorporated in the New Testament.

Jackman, reportedly grew up in a Christian home, with a father who is a born-again Christian. He was often brought to Billy Graham crusades in Australia, according to a Parade profile.

Damon and Affleck are both reportedly on board as well to co-produce the film with Jackman under their Pearl Street banner along with Jennifer Todd and Chris Clarke. Matt Cook, will write the script.

Although not sure if Jackman considers himself a Christian he has taken on roles that point to Jesus. Most recently, playing Valjean in the classic film 'Les Miserables'. See Jackman describe his religious soliloquy below:
