'House Of Cards' Season 5 Release Date, Premiere News: Upcoming Season Largely Influenced By Trump's Presidency?

"House of Cards" season 5 is set to premiere soon and recent reports suggest that the presidency of newly-elected US President Donald Trump will largely influence its storyline.

Since Trump was elected, rumors about the possible events that may occur in the premiere episode of season 5 have begun to surface.

Some reports claim that since many people in the United States are unhappy with Trump's victory, the fate of "House of Cards" currently hangs in a balance. This is because if rumors are true that the storyline of the new season will be inspired by Trump's presidency, then there is a chance that Frank Underwood might be written off completely from the series.

One of those who expressed their disgust and disappointment over Trump's victory was "House of Cards" creator Beau Willimon, who recently posted on Twitter his views about the result of the presidential elections. His post got viewers thinking how the current situation in America would affect the story of the fifth season.

There are speculations that "House of Cards" season 5 will feature the death of one major character. In a recent interview, Douglas 'Doug' Stamper portrayer Michael Kelly was quoted as saying, "You lose characters that you love. We almost lost Frank, and I always have faith in the writers that no matter what road we go down, we're going to come back to what the show is."

Given Kelly's statement, plus the victory of Trump, it looks like fans of "House of Cards" should expect a major plot twist next season.

Netflix has yet to announce the official release date of "House of Cards" season 5.
