‘House of Cards’ Season 3 Release Date, Spoilers: Jenna Stern, Kim Dickens to Join Cast for New Season?

One of Netflix's biggest hit series, 'House of Cards' returns with its third season with new cast members including 'Law & Order' actress Jenna Stern and 'Gone Girl' actress Kim Dickens.

'Law & Order' alum Jenna Stern is rumored to enter the world of corruption, politics, and drama in the Netflix hit 'House of Cards' as a United Nations ambassador who has not yet been named, according to TV Line.

Stern is known for playing seven different roles, including SVU Judge Elana Barth in Dick Wolf's legal and police drama, 'Law & Order', which she has been cast since the series started in 1999.

Aside from that, Stern has been included in other legal drama spin-off series like 'Special Victims Unit' and 'Criminal Intent'.

Another cast rumored to be added in Season 3 is 'Gone Girl' actress Kim Dickens, but that has not yet been confirmed.

Like Stern, the role of the 49-year old actress still remains undisclosed, but as Entertainment Weekly reported, Dickens will appear in more than one episode.

Dickens has starred in an HBO drama series as lesbian hostess and owner of Chez Amis, Joanie Stubbs in 'Deadwood' and as a troubled chef in 'Treme'.

Stern and Dickens will join Kevin Spacey (Frank Underwood), Rachel Brosnahan (Rachel Posner), Robin Wright (Claire Underwood), Sebastian Arcelus (Lucas Goodwin), Constance Zimmer (Janine Skorsky) in 'House of Cards' Season 3.

For those who may not know, 'House of Cards' is an American political drama set in Washington, D.C. that revolves around Democrat Congressman-turned-Secretary of State Frank Underwood's plan to manipulate, deceive people to put himself in power with the help of his wife Claire Underwood.

What's left to find out is how Dickens and Stern affect the lives of Underwood? Will the upcoming season see a dark phase with series of deaths? Watch out as Season 3 of 'House of Cards' airs on Netflix in the first half of 2015.
