'House of Cards' Season 2 Release Date / Netflix Series Start Date Spring 2014 / 'Cards' Creator Beau Willimon: "About Halfway Through Filming" [TRAILER]
Fans of hit Netflix series House of Cards, you came to the right place for hot off-the-press Season 2 details.
According to House of Cards executive producer Beau Willimon, the show is about halfway through filming and producing Season 2.
Willimon took to his Twitter account to share the news with fans of the political thriller.
"We're about halfway through filming Season Two. We film in Maryland, in and around Baltimore. Sometimes in DC," Willimon tweeted.
According to Christian Post, the House of Cards Season 2 release on Netflix is expected some time in spring 2014, around the same time as the Season 1 release. An specific start date has yet to be confirmed.
In terms of how the episodes will be released, there's been no word from Willimon or Netflix. Chances are Netflix and House of Cards will return to the same full-season simultaneous release that made the series and network so uniquely popular after Season 1.
House of Cards star Kevin Spacey, who plays the dicey Democrat from South Carolina's 5th congressional district, Frank Underwood says the format could change the TV/entertainment industry for good.
"It's a very exciting time for the industry. Since we debuted, a lot of other organizations and streaming companies have announced that they're doing original content. The more shows that are produced, the more writers are hired, producers are hired, actors are hired, directors are hired, it means the more people will get employed. It's better for the economy. It's a fantastic thing."
For fans wanting to catch up before the Season 2 start date, the first season of HoC was released on DVD back in June. Chances are if you've seen the show, you have a Netflix account. Just in case the Netflix server is down or the company goes belly up, you can just catch Season 1 there.
House of Cards Season 2 is set to premiere spring 2014 on Netflix.
