'Homeland' Season 3 Release Date, Teaser Trailer, New Cast Details, Watch Here (VIDEO)

"Homeland" the hit show on Showtime is back next month with Season 3 and they have released their first trailer teasing the upcoming season that premieres on September 29th.

In the trailer Brody is on the run and he says, "I just need to get my strength back." There is also a phrase in the trailer Brody says in Arabic that translates to: "I am a Muslim lost in this world. Help me come clean again."

In the finale of Season 2, Brody gets blamed for a tragic terror attack and is forced to leave Carrie. Showtime states, "Carrie and Saul begin to pick up the pieces of their shattered professional and personal lives" and are soon "swept up in the political and media firestorm surrounding...the search for Brody's whereabouts."

"It's pretty bleak in the very beginning because she's gone off her meds for lots of reasons that she believes really strongly in," says Claire Danes (Carrie) about the upcoming season, also that Carrie and Saul (Mandy Patinkin) will remain "very deeply connected because they experienced that trauma in a way no one else has."

"She does feel a certain level of betrayal," Danes adds, "and also both Saul and Carrie share an enormous and profound amount of guilt and responsibility for this loss."

Damian Lewis who plays Nick Brody shares, "The decision to not have Brody in the first two episodes was just a function of storyline." Lewis also adds: "Brody is on the lam ... he's the most wanted criminal in the world, so he has to lay low. I think when you do see Brody I think you will see - and hopefully it will be of interest to the audience - what state he will be in .... I hope when you do see Brody for the first time it will be interesting."

"Homeland" is back Sunday, September 29th at 9 p.m. EST.
