Hollywood studios are increasingly dependent on material with built-in audiences, something the Bible certainly has. The Bible is an international best seller, easily making it one of the most popular books of all time.

The History Channel had the number one program on a weekly basis, The Bible series, having more than 11 million viewers every week this year. Independent films, Fireproof, and, Courageous have done unbelievable with their box office numbers.

Pew Research stated that there are 91 million evangelical Christians in America alone making it a huge market for tickets sales in theaters and DVD for years to come. Which is a guaranteed gold mine for investors.

Action Heroes have always done well in Cinema. Every year there is another blockbuster film on the horizon of everyone's favorite super heroes -  Spiderman, Superman, Batman, the Avengers, and the list goes on and on.

The Bible has an endless amount of action heroes in its pages and unlike the comics the source material for the Bible is public domain, so there is no licensing fee required in making it less expensive and strenuous for the studios to use.

When going into to major productions studios are often determined to win over their audience. It is imperative that the story line be remembered. Hollywood does not have to worry with presenting a new story or a new character to their audience. The Biblical accounts are well known stories that people are familiar with and already compelled by.

These are just a few reasons as to why Hollywood could be welcoming Christian content to the big screen. Ultimately Hollywood knows it has nothing to lose when investing in the greatest story ever told.
