Hollis Creek Revival Gives Taste Of New Album With Release Of Single 'Wildfire' On July 1

Hollis Creek Revival

Rock band Hollis Creek Revival dropped a new single, "Wildfire," which is a cut of the upcoming album, titled "In the River," and scheduled for release on July 1.

"Wildfire" pays homage to the missionaries who selflessly spread the Gospel around the world, and can now be heard on Christian radio stations.

Brandon Kelley, the Hollis Creek Revival frontman, said that the song was inspired by stories of their friends who went on missions overseas.

"Leaving home and everything you know, to do what you have been called to do is very difficult," he said. "You find yourself in a place that is unfamiliar and scary. But you carry with you hope, or this spark, and when you light this fire it will spread. The gospel will spread throughout the world."

Hollis Creek Revival was named after Brandon's grandfather and was formed in November 2014. The original group was composed of just Kelley and Brad Jerkins. Now Brandon is joined by Clint Singleton, who plays the bass, acoustic and electric guitar; and Jacob Patillo, who plays the mandolin, banjo, electric and acoustic guitar.

Jerkins, however, has not yet fully left the band and still joins the Hollis Creek Revival during live shows and in the studio.

"I wanted to honor my grandfather when starting this project," Kelley said. "In a way, it was about recognizing my heritage and the legacy of my grandfather and my father."

Pre-orders for the album, "In the River," are now available on their official website. For more information about the band and the single "Wildfire," follow the band on Facebook and Twitter.
