Hercules Movie 2014 Cast News: Christian Actor Kevin Sorbo Disappointed He Will Not Appear in Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's Film (VIDEOS)

Hercules: The Legendary Journeys star Kevin Sorbo revealed that he was surprised he was not included in the upcoming Hercules film which stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

"Dwayne Johnson and I used to workout in the same gym for a while, nice guy...We were sort of taken aback that they wouldn't let me in that movie. Not even to do a cameo. I think it's kind of stupid, really," Sorbo said to Dish Nation, "We approached the director [Brett Ratner]. I don't know what his reasons are. I don't know if it was political or ego or what it is? But to not put me in for a stupid little cameo? The audience would have loved it."

The 55-year-old Minnesota native is best known for playing the title role in the Hercules: The Legendary Journeys from 1995-1999, which received so much success in the 1990's, it resulted in Universal Studios creating an equally successful spinoff series entitled Xena: The Warrior Princess which starred Sorbo's former co-star Lucy Lawless (1995-2001).

In the same Dish Nation interview, he also talked about the upcoming Expendables 3 movie which stars Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundren, Jason Statham, Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Kelsey Grammer, and Ronda Rousey to name a few.

"They told me they were going to put me in Expendables 2, and they never did. Maybe I'm too tall for that cast, I don't know," said Sorbo.

Sorbo recently starred in Alongside Night after co-starring with Shane Harper in the critically acclaimed God's Not Dead film that was released earlier this year.

The new Hercules film starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is expected to arrive in movie theaters this Friday on July 25, 2014.
