GTA 6 Release Date, Latest Rumors: Rockstar Already Working on New GTA Game After GTA 5 Success

The last GTA game, Grand Theft Auto V, was a resounding success, and many are looking forward to its rerelease on next generation platforms.

Now fans await to see if Take Two will take the next step and begin development on the next installment of the wide-reaching, epically popular series of titles.

While there is a lot of speculation on exactly when that game will come out, is there any reliable information that can point to a release date for Grand Theft Auto VI? And what are the grand plans that they intend to include for new sequel?

Grand Theft Auto IV came out five years before its successor. It was released three and two years after the introduction of the PS3 and Xbox360, and the V was released four years later, prompting some to posit that VI will be released in a similar time frame, followed by VII.

No speculator can claim to know whether or not the same pattern will hold true for these recently released consoles. It does seem, however, that if past actions of Rockstar games hold true, there might be a significant time gap in between games as the developer decides to pursue other titles.

In an October interview with Develop, Rockstar North President Leslie Benzies revealed that the Rockstar team already thinking about future plans for their sixth urban crime-drama opus.

In fact, she claims: "We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do. We don't know what 'GTA VI' will be, but we've got some ideas."
