'Grey's Anatomy' Season 11 Episode 9 Spoilers: New Character in Mid-Season Premiere - Air Date Jan. 29, 2015

ABC's 'Grey's Anatomy' recently concluded the first half of its eleventh season with Episode 8, which happened to leave all the series fans with some serious cliffhangers. However, the upcoming Season 11 Episode 9 premiere, will provide some answers for eager fans, as well as introduce a new character.

Stepping back, viewers of the series can recall that McDreamy accepted the position in Washington, which leaves his story arc hanging in the balance. On that note, rumors are saying that Derek is going to leave for quite some time, but that he'll eventually come back.

Beyond that, avid series fans are hoping that Amelia Shepard can help with Dr. Herman's cancer when 'Grey's Anatomy' returns next year. As it stands, Shepard seems to have found a way to cure Dr. Herman's "uncurable' ailment, but then again, the writers behind the show could just be lining up another surprise.

Last but not least, another cliffhanger that has kept the fans eager to find out more, concerns Jackson and April's Baby. Viewers can recall that Jackson was in earshot of Dr. Herman and Stephanie as they talked about a possibly tragic scenario for the baby, one which is unlikely to blow over easily,

On that note, Fashion & Style says that the unborn child will be a central part in the rest of 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 11.

Stepping into some interview with the cast and crew of 'Grey's Anatomy', actress Caterina Scorsone shared her opinion about the upcoming storyline development.

She said in an interview, "I'm a fan of the show too so I'm just so excited to see it return! I can't wait to see how all the particular stories unfold. But I am-- well, I don't want to say excited, because that's not the right word-I'm drawn into Kepner and Avery's baby story in part because it resonates so deeply in Amelia's backstory."

Adding, "She had a really difficult journey with her baby. It will be incredibly interesting to see how their story plays out."

Setting that aside, a new character will be roaming the halls of Grey Sloan Memorial when the series returns with Episode 9. Fashion & Style says, "that Travis, a male-to-female transgendered person will begin to make the rounds at Grey Sloan Memorial."

'Grey's Anatomy' airs the Season 11 second half premiere episode on Thursday, Jan. 29, at 7/8 pm central on ABC.
