Greg Oden to Sign with Miami Heat? / Big Man Says LeBron James and Three-Peat Was A "Big Selling Point"

The Miami Heat have finally found their big man. Greg Oden may still need some time to prepare his body for a tough NBA season, but finding a team is no longer a problem.

The former no. 1 overall pick out of Ohio State will soon be joining LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and the two-time defending NBA champs, the Miami Heat. Oden was in talks with several teams, including the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks, before deciding to sign a contract with the Heat for close to $1 million, according to one of Oden's agents, Mike Conley Sr.

Oden most likely could've made more money elsewhere, but the big man says playing with LeBron James was a big factor in his decision. Oden opened up with Grantland's Mart Titus about why he signed with the Heat.

"Obviously the chance to play with the best player in the world and compete for a championship was a big selling point," Oden told Titus. "But more than that, what I really liked was how they thought I could really add something to their team.

What seemed like a flawless team, the Heat were tested in last year's playoffs. Roy Hibbert exposed the team's lack of presence in the paint in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Pacers. With Tim Duncan returning to the Spurs, the Heat finally have the size to strengthen the Heat's front line going into the postseason. That is, if he can stay on the court.

Do you think the Miami Heat signing Greg Oden was a good decision for the team going forward?
