Gracie Gold vs Yuna Kim: Winter Olympics 2014 Ladies' Figure Skating Finals (NBC TV Sochi Event Schedule)

Two figure skating icons - America's Gracie Gold - and South Korean, Yuna Kim, are getting ready to once again take to the spotlight next week on Wednesday and Thursday as the Short Program and Free Skating competitions take place at this year's Winter Olympic Games 2014 in Sochi, Russia.

Gracie Gold and Yuna Kim have both shown their grace and ability in various competitions leading up to this Olympics. However, Kim Yuna will be the big favorite between the two to take the gold medal.

Gold, 18, has proved her chops by tipping the scores enough with her debut performance to help bring a much needed Bronze medal to the American camp. Her 'Team Skating' performance was bested only by dynamite Russian skater Julia Lipnitskaia, a star 15 year old from the host nation, who continues to wow audiences with her precociousness and graceful response under pressure.

Gold is also a rising star many feel will only improve with time, though critics already praise her for her consistently clean and polished technical ability. She nailed all 11 of her jumps at the women's free skate, and she will be pushing things even more when the ladies' singles figure skating competition gets underway next week.

Kim, 23, already possesses an Olympic gold medal and a record breaking near perfect score from her performance in the Vancouver Olympics in 2010.

Yuna Kim is a fierce competitor, and as someone who has a pretty good chance of winning two consecutive gold medals for figure skating at the Olympics, somewhat of an anomaly. Her South Korean compatriots often refer to her as "Queen Yuna," as she has one of the highest grossing and most popular careers of any Korean athlete across all sports.

Yuna will leave the Olympic stage for good after this week's performance as she has confirmed she will not be targeting an appearance in 2018, but that doesn't mean that her competition will stand by and let her ride off into the sunset without a challenge.

Even Japanese Mao Asada isn't prepared to let this one go, and she will also be a big threat on the leaderboard.

As all four competitors face off next week on Wednesday and Thursday at 10:00 a.m. on NBC can anyone really predict what the outcome will be?
