Government Shutdown October 1st, 2013: Is Obamacare Putting Military Pay at Risk? [VIDEO]

The United States federal government shut down at midnight on Tuesday due to an inability to reach an agreement on federal spending on Monday night. Republicans claims that Obamacare is the reason that the government shut down because funding it within the budget was impossible. The government shutdown puts military pay, small business loans, and social security at risk. While the government is shut down, all of the national parks will be closed due to lack of necessary funding. They will all reopen when the federal government and congress find a solution to the funding crisis.

USA Today reports, "Since 2010, Republicans have tried to unsuccessfully gut the Affordable Care Act, or 'Obamacare,' over 40 times. However, because their methods failed, the GOP took an unconventional step to pass a bill that averts a government shutdown only if the implementation of the Affordable Care Act is delayed and a 2.3 percent tax on medical devices to help pay for the health care law is repealed."

As of right now, millions of federal employees are being forced to work without a paycheck. However, taxes will still be collected and mail will still be delivered.
