'Gotham' Season 3 Spoilers, Recap: Joker Might Rise From The Dead To Wreak Havoc

Someone will rise from the dead to wreak havoc in Gotham once again in the next episode of "Gotham" season 3.

Actor Cameron Monaghan, who plays the mysterious villain Joker in the series, has been offering glimpses of his character Jerome for quite some time. Now that his character is allegedly back on the show, the actor's cryptic posts are also back, only that they have gotten even creepier this time. Recent posts of Monaghan hint the kind of Joker that viewers will see in the future episodes of the show.

According to reports, Jerome is set to return from the dead in the coming episode. It can be recalled that he was killed previously following his failed assault on Arkham. Inverse reported that Jerome will sport a new look when he returns, since he is now known to be among Gotham's most notorious criminals.

Recently, Monagham posted a photo of the actor's face covered with a mask that imitates decaying skin. The photo sparked speculations that things are going to pick up where the series left the character at one point in the show, when he was already a corpse.

Another post shows dark red circles around Monagham's eyes and cuts at the ends of his lips, both distinctive characteristics of Joker's smile. Based on the actor's teasers, it looks like the returning Joker might resemble the Joker from Scott Snyder's "Death of the Family" story arc.

"Gotham" season 3 airs Mondays, 8:00 p.m. on FOX.
