Gospel artist Javen has garnered his first Billboard Top 10 placement with his new solo album, Grace, released on June 22 on Tyscot Records. The project, which is Javen's seventh career album, debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard Gospel Album Sales chart last week, while also rolling in at No. 13 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums multi-metric consumption chart, which combines traditional album sales, track equivalent albums and streaming equivalent albums.
"[A] big thank you to everyone on the well wishes and congrats on the Billboard charting of the Grace CD," Javen says in a post on social media. "I really, really appreciate the love and support! This is by far one of if not the best project I have release to date!"
Based in Miami, Javen is a singer, actor, and pastor of Bahamian heritage and brings the warm and festive rhythms of that Caribbean legacy to some of his music. On the album's single "Jehova" the African Children's Choir backs Javen in a rousing, upbeat song of praise and adoration available for listening at the end of this article.
The second single and the album's title track, "Grace," is a powerful song of redemption sung by Javen with a rich, velvety group of background vocalists. In the official music video for the song, he is also flanked by acclaimed gospel duo Nicole and David Binion as well as songwriter Adam Ranney in a stirring live performance.
Grace is available for streaming and download everywhere now, with links to most retail and digital outlets available here.
