New details on the release date, specifications, and price of the Google Nexus 2016 have been revealed.

According to University Herald, the Google Nexus 2016 is set to be unveiled in August this year, along with the official announcement for the Android N. As per the publication, it was assumed Google would make an announcement about the device at the I/O 2016 event; however, the giant tech remained tight-lipped about its upcoming product's release.

With regard the specifications, the Google Nexus 2016 is set to have a 5.7-inch display, along with a 1440 by 2560 quad-high definition pixels, according to Phone Arena. The device is also set to run the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chip with 3GB of RAM, though there are talks saying that the device could also run the new Snapdragon 820 with a 4GB of RAM. The device's operating system is assumed to be the Android N, which is expected to be released in the latter part of the year.

In terms of camera, the Google Nexus 2016 is believed to feature a 16MP camera, which is 4MP boost from the Nexus 5X and 6P's 12MP rear camera. The front camera for the upcoming device is expected to be 8MP, which is assumed to be suitable for taking photo images like selfies. Along with the camera is a heavy-duty 3450 mAh battery, which powers the device for a long period of time, as opposed to other smartphone models.

About the price, it is assumed that the Google Nexus 2016 will be sold at $419.99, which is lower that the original selling price of $499.
