‘God of War IV’ Release Date, Spoilers: Launch Uncertain, New Game Will Be Another ‘Hack and Slash’ Adventure

Although rumors regarding the release date of 'God of War IV' have been circulating since 2011, Sony Computer Entertainment has yet to come up with a confirmation in this regard. The 'God of War' IV is the eighth installment of the 'God of War' series including the prequels to the entire franchise; new rumors have surfaced about this fourth person action video game developed by Santa Monica Studio.

Recently PSM3, a UK gaming magazine, has come up with some latest details regarding the 'God of War IV'. The magazine speculates that that the game might feature an online multiplayer co-op as a plot line that entails Kratos and his brother Deimos attempting escape the afterlife. The article in PSM3 also suggests that 'God of War IV' may currently be in is development stage. Therefore, fan expect the game to come sooner, rather than later.

Sometime during the late 2010, there were rumors about the possible development of a 'God of War IV' sequel. At the same time, it was also rumored that it might be released on Sept. 28, 2012, which actually did not happen. In fact, the title of the upcoming game was revealed quite accidentally when Santa Monica posted a job listing seeking a senior staff concept artist for a project called 'God of War' (GOW).

Earlier, PSM3 had rumored about the existence of 'God of War IV' around May 2011. Quoting an anonymous source, the UK gaming magazine had further stated that it might also be a multiplayer online game which may be released in 2012. In fact, PSM3 also announced a release date for the game in 2012.

There are rumors that the developers are taking their time to create a gameplay similar to the earlier versions of 'God of Wars'. This game will be based on PlayStation platforms and, as far as the genre of the game is concerned, it will be a "Hack and Slash" action adventure with more fun and different intensity that is certainly worth waiting for.
