'Glee' Series on FOX to End After Season 6 Says Creator Ryan Murphy, See His Explanation Here

"Glee" Season 5 is in progress right now, taking a few week break after the emotion 'The Quarterback' episode that was a tribute to Finn Hudson and in turn deceased cast member Cory Monteith.

After Monteith's death, there was a lot of uncertainty on the show's future. "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy spoke to some press at the Paley Center in Beverly Hills, CA. He does explain that his original plan for the series had to change due to the untimely death of Cory Monteith, so a different ending was created.

Murphy explained, "The final year of the show, which will be next year, was designed around Rachel and Cory/Finn's story. I always knew that, I always knew how it would end. I knew what the last shot was, he was in it. I knew what the last line was, she said it to him. So when a tragedy like that happens you sort of have to pause and figure out what you want to do, so we're figuring that out now."

"Glee" was renewed in April before Monteith's death, so the show really had to go one more season rather then just ending this season.

Fans of the show would pretty much agree that it is time to end the show and it has had a good run. "Glee" started out strong, but the episodes have been going downhill recently. We will just have to wait and see how the writers conclude the popular series over the next season and a half.
