‘Glee’ Season 6 Spoilers: Show Execs Confirm a Return to McKinley High

"Glee' show executive Ryan Murphy has confirmed that the sixth and last season of the hit show will include a return to McKinley High. In a revealing Q&A with a few select outlets, Murphy opened up about the big idea that he and co-creators Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan are planning for Season 6's 24-episode farewell.

He also opened up how things radically changed for Season 5 when Cory Monteith, who played the role of Finn, passed away. "Finn was going to sort of take over the glee club and Rachel was going to be off having her New York adventures. When Cory passed away, part of the story as we imagined didn't make sense anymore, really. It felt sad, to be quite honest. We collectively made a decision that the freshest thing to do was a complete, clean start," said Murphy as he explained why most of the episodes in the fifth season took place in New York City.

However, Murphy said that the new season will definitely bring viewers back to McKinley High, and even though the glee club was disbanded, there is a chance that the New Directions could be poised for an amazing comeback.

In Entertainment Weekly's interview with Jane Lynch who plays Sue Silvester, she hinted that some old New Directions rivals could make a comeback. "I think we're going to have some surprises about who's going to be the choir director of The Warblers and who will be the choir director of Vocal Adrenaline. I think it'll be a big surprise," she says.

"Glee' Season 6 is expected to debut in 2015.
