'Game of Thrones' Season 6 Spoilers: Dragons Will Different & Double in Size in New Episodes

With the highly-anticipated 'Game of Thrones' Season 5 finale over, the focus is now on the show's upcoming season of the fantasy drama television series on HBO based on author George R.R. Martin's novel "A Song of Ice and Fire." Already a member of the show's special effect team has teased that the upcoming season will comprise beasts that look very different.

According to a report in IB Times, 'Game of Thrones' Season 5 has spent considerable time on the three majestic dragons belonging to Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke). In Season 5, fans saw the Drogon returning to its master when the Sons of the Harpy attacked Queen Daenerys and her court, which currently includes Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), increasing the stakes of the fight immensely. The moment when everything seemed to be lost, Drogon flew in and had a Harpy lunch.

The report further states that the reunion ended with the Mother of Dragons ascending on top of her ferocious winged son and then fly off to safety, providing the fans with a first look at a full-sized dragon in action. However, there seems to be just one problem - the dragons are still not full-sized.

Recently, talking to Yahoo TV, Joe Bauer, the 'Game of Thrones' VFX supervisor, confirmed that Season 6 of the show will see all the three dragons of Dany double in size again.

Bauer said, "When the dragons were small, we had little foam rubber models of each dragon and we could carry them on and off of the set and it was no big deal," adding, "Last year, the best we could do was a head and this year it's going to be a finger nail or something, I'm not really sure."

Meanwhile, CinemaBlend reports that the dragons are already full-sized - measuring 60 feet from one wingtip to the other. This suggests that the next time the viewers see Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion in the 'Game of Thrones' Season 6, they are likely to be gigantic - 120-foot monsters set to block the sunlight hitting King's Landing and then light it back up with ... maybe mostly with fire and blood.
