‘Frozen 2’ Release Date News: ‘Frozen’ Characters to Feature in ‘Frozen Fever’ [VIDEO]

While Disney Studios has yet to announce whether there will be a 'Frozen' sequel or not, the chances of the characters from the Academy Award-winning animated movie may soon appear in short films. In fact, fans will be seeing the 'Cinderella' in theaters as early as March.

Christian Today reports that the short animated film 'Frozen Fever,' directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, will bring back several characters from 'Frozen' - including Anna, Elsa, Sven, Kristoff and Olaf among others. It seems that the film will also reveal a new song from Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, the duo who were also responsible for the hit single "Let It Go" in 'Frozen.'

As far as the synopsis of 'Cinderella' is concerned, the short animated film will entirely focus on Anna's birthday celebrations. Elsa and Kristoff will try to plan a party for her but a problem arises when Elsa catches a cold.

Keeping in view the fact that the snow queen Elsa possesses extraordinary abilities, almost everyone on 'Frozen Fever,' a sequel to the 2013 Walt Disney Animation Studios film 'Frozen', suffers from the problem of catching a cold.

In fact, the upcoming short animated film, which runs for seven minutes, may possibly turn out to one of several succeeding short film segments and they are likely to offer more songs. Therefore, fans can certainly expect more from the immensely hit animated film from the Walt Disney Animation Studios in future.

However, still there is no word from Disney regarding a 'Frozen' sequel. Therefore, it seems that as of now Disney may follow the short film approach.

'Frozen,' the short film segment, will be released by March 13, 2015 -- around the same time when the live-action feature 'Cinderella' will hit theaters.
