Friends Reunion 2014 Thanksgiving Rumors - Matt LeBlanc Says Reports Are False

A poster made by a fan saying that the hit series Friends will have a reunion, has alarmed countless fans, but according to Matt LeBlanc, all the rumors are hoaxes and there will be no Thanksgiving 2014 reunion.

In a recent interview with Los Angeles Times, LeBlanc, who played Joey Tribbiani in the series has put a stop to all the rumors giving false hope to all Friends fans, "As far as a reunion project, that's just not in the cards. I think that show was about a finite period in your life - after college and before you start your family where your friends are your family - and that's what that show was about," LeBlanc said.

LeBlanc clearly closes the doors to the possibility that the hit television series, that ran for 10 years, will reunite. He said that the show has already served its purpose and that if there was a reunion, the show will have a totally different drive.

"I don't want to see old Joey. I don't want to see Chandler and Monica with their kids that are big now. I'd rather imagine that. Everyone's going to have a different vision of what those characters are like, so to have that materialise is going to disappoint most people... It's better to just let them think," LeBlanc told Entertainment Weekly.

Even show co-creators shot down the idea. Marta Kauffman and David Crane said, "Honestly, I have to go back to: The show is over. What was at the heart of the show is done. And let's be honest, it's 20 years later. Nobody looks like they did then. And you're going to spend the whole time going, 'Wow, he's aged. Or she's...'" Kauffman announced to press.

As much as the fans would like to re-live their memories watching the show that got stuck in everyone's hearts, unfortunately it's a done deal. The show creators would rather have the people wonder what could happen next with the group than let the people watch a new version only to be disappointed.

The hit TV series originally aired on NBC in 1994 and lasted ten seasons. The series ended in May 2004, and in its finale, the show garnered the fourth most watched series finale in television history. Not only that, the show was also nominated for 62 Primetime Emmy Awards.
