Ex-Cornerstone Community Church Pastor Francis Chan and his wife Lisa explained why they are writing a new book entitled You and Me Forever: Marriage in Light of Eternity regarding the issue of marriage.

"I am excited about this. I feel so good, especially about the things that Lisa has written in this book. I'm like 'Oh, Gosh that's powerful!' It's stuff we need to hear, but it's right out of the Scriptures and so I want everybody to get this [book]. I believe it's something God has asked me write," said Francis alongside his wife when they promoted their book in a video.

Francis further expressed the importance of why people should get this book when it becomes available this summer, "The whole idea behind it is, sometimes couples can get so wrapped up on things here to where they're not focused on the kingdom," said Mr. Chan.

"Our marriages need to remember that we are on a mission, it isn't about how satisfied or happy we are with one another," said Lisa, "We felt that there was something lacking, that there wasn't a resource that really helped couples pull out of that inward focus and make it so much about one another and rather making it an outward focus and say 'What are we really here for?' What is the bigger picture about marriage?'"

Mrs. Chan further expressed why people should get her new life-altering book on marriage, "You gotta read this because I think it will change your mind heart, it will change your heart. It'll help you see marriage in an entirely different light," said Lisa.

Francis also explained the reason why the upcoming book was self-published, instead being distributed by a major publishing company.

"That's why we decided to self-publish because I wanted to be able to give it away for free to everyone who needs it," said Francis.

The You and Me Forever: Marriage in Light of Eternity book will become available on August 26, 2014.
