Francesca Battistelli appeared on Air1 Radio's Behind the Music and explained the meaning behind her hit song "Write Your Story."

"So 'Write Your Story' is kind of influenced by Jeremiah 29:11, and it says, 'For I know plans I have for you says the Lord; Plans to prosper you not to harm you, to give you a hope and a future," she said in the Air1 Radio video.

She continued, and explained the struggle of being patient and waiting on the Lord's divine plan.

"It's really hard to do especially when you're in a season of waiting, and just saying, 'Ok God, I know your timing is perfect, here's the pen, here's the pages, just take control'."

"You know it's easier said then done, but trusting God when things don't go as planned. His plans, His thoughts, His ways they're all higher than ours. We just have to allow him to write the story," she said.

Battistelli's 'If We're Honest Tour' with Sanctus Real and Jon Bauer begins September 25 and finishes its 17 dates on November 2.

She received a Dove Award nomination for Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year for If We're Honest.

Battistelli is a former Artist of the Year winner, and is the highest selling new Christian artist of the last 10 years. This nomination marks the 23rd for the singer.
