According to a press release, Battistelli's award was her first career Grammy Award, following her "If We're Honest" album's three total Grammy nominations. This indicates that Battistelli has gotten a total of four career nominations.

In a statement, Battistelli said that she was so honored and humbled to had been recognized with a Grammy award for "Holy Spirit," a song that had meant so much for her. She also expressed her gratitude to Bryan Torwalt and Katie Torwalt for writing an amazing song and letting her sing it. For the singer, he prayed God continued to use it to change people's lives and draw them closer to Himself.

While Battistelli was thrilled on the upcoming birth of her third child, the singer was reportedly unable to attend the 58th Annual Grammy Awards.

Israel & Newsbreed's "Covered: Alive Is Asia" won the Best Gospel Album while Kirk Franklin won the Best Gospel Performance with his project "Wanna Be Happy?" Francesca Battistelli won the Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance with her song "Holy Spirit" while Stephen Paulus' "Paulus: Prayers & Remembrances" got the Best Contemporary Classical Composition.
