FIFA 15 Release Date News, Rumors: PS4 and Xbox One Covers Feature Christian Athletes Lionel Messi, Clint Dempsey (VIDEO)

In the upcoming FIFA 15 videogame, it will feature Christian soccer superstars Lionel Messi and Clint Dempsey as the cover athletes in the latest installment created by EA Sports.

"It's pretty cool, especially to be on the cover of a game that I played growing up, and also in the company of one of the best players in the world," said Dempsey in an interview, according to a report by The Epoch Times. "It's exciting."

The US national team captain currently plays for the MLS franchise Seattle Sounders after propelling the US squad to the Round of 16 stage of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, where they fell to Belgium by 2-1 after extra time on July 1.

Dempsey revealed in another interview that what he prays for and how grateful for the opportunity God has given him in his life.

"Today, I pray for strength to walk the road before me," said Dempsey to Sports Spectrum last month. "I play to the best of my abilities and am thankful for the many opportunities and amazing success He has given me. Through it all, I want to do right, not make mistakes, and live a life that is pleasing to [God]."

The Texas native also explained how the previous FIFA videogames have made Americans more interested and knowledgeable about soccer (aka association football) in the US.

"You start figuring out the rules, so when you watch the games on TV, you're able to understand it more," said Dempsey, according to a report by The Epoch Times. "It only helps the popularity of the game in the U.S."

On the upcoming box art Dempsey will wear different uniforms on the box art alongside Messi in the upcoming soccer simulation game.

On the PlayStation versions of the future game, the American athlete will be appearing on the cover wearing U.S. men's team uniform, conversely, he will be wearing his MLS Seattle Sounders jersey in the Xbox versions of the game.

However, Lionel Messi will be wearing his FC Barcelona uniform no matter which version of the game the consumer purchases.

The 27-year-old Catholic athlete won the Golden Ball award (for best player at the World Cup tournament), despite the fact his team from Argentina fell to Germany in this year's World Cup Finals by 1-0 after extra time on July 13, 2014.

FIFA 15 is expected to be released in stores on September 23 for the PC, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS Vita, Nintendo Wii, and Nintendo 3DS.
