'Fashion Police' Co-Host Giuliana Rancic Reveals How Battling Cancer and Infertility Affected Her Faith in God (VIDEO)

'Fashion Police' and 'E! TV' journalist Giuliana Rancic revealed in an interview how battling with infertility and breast cancer affected her relationship with the Lord.

"It was hard, also, my sister has four children and I come from a big family, so it was heart-wrenching not to be able to have a child," said Rancic to the Daily Mail. "My faith is strong and Bill and I go to church every Sunday, but I remember going to church and getting angry. I was asking God, 'Why aren't you giving us a child?'"

After the couple got married on September 1, 2007 at the Sancta Sophia Church in Capri, Italy, the couple began using invitro fertilization (aka IVF) in March 2010 after failing to conceive a child naturally.

As a result of a doctor recommending a mammogram prior to a possible third IVF transfer, she discovered she had early stage breast cancer which resulted in her having a double mastectomy in December 2011.

"I would have been like many women who get their first mammogram at 40, but because I had the type of cancer that accelerates quickly, I might not have found it early enough and I might not be here today," said Rancic.

"It's incredible how life works out. Sometimes the hardest things in life are there to bring about the best things."

Consequently, the 40-year-old Naples, Italy native now has a son named Edward Duke Rancic (via a surrogate mother), who turns two-years-old on August 29, 2014.

The couple is now contemplating having more children via adoption after another surrogate mother miscarried their potential second child earlier this year.

"We're thinking about it. We had to take a little break because it's so emotionally draining, but I'm hoping it'll be before the end of the year," said Rancic.

"I think adoption creates even more of a special bond between the child and parents because a child is coming into your family. I think that brings a different level of love. I love my life and I'm just happy to be alive."

Mrs. Rancic is currently cancer-free, thanks to the 'Giuliana and Bill' reality star detecting her breast cancer early.
